In a rare defense incident, a British Royal Air Force (RAF) F-35 Lightning II fighter jet made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Kerala.
To address the technical issue, the UK dispatched a team of specialized engineers and technicians via an Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft. The repair crew has now begun inspection and on-site restoration of the fifth-generation stealth aircraft under high security.
This is the first-ever known F-35 landing on Indian soil, highlighting emergency preparedness and growing UK-India defense cooperation.
While the matter remains sensitive, officials confirm that the operation is under control and the aircraft is expected to return once fully airworthy.
